I am looking at getting a new soldering station so I can start soldering my boards. I have not decided on what station to get however I would like to know what size tip(s) I need.
Please tell me what tip is best for you when you solder boards.
Thank you,

Check out the soldering irons post a couple below yours, looks to have all the info you might need there.

I checked that post however it does not say what size tips everyone uses.

Something about 0.8 - 1mm conical, is just right.

I use the "pencil" tip that comes with the iron I recommend in the Soldering Station topic. I think it is the size Wayne quoted.

I used 2 irons with different sized tips. One was the pencil for most of the sockets and parts on the 5vdc side of my board. For the 110vac parts that are bigger, especially my fuse holders and terminal blocks I used a hotter/larger tip.
My big tip had gotten blunt over the years and I just used my belt sander to grind it back into a triangle point.
What I noticed was using the cheap $5-10 irons, the small 15-25 watt ones do not recover fast enough to heat up a large part. That is why I kept 2 always plugged in.

Macrosill - thanks for the advice. I placed an order yesterday for this soldering station.
