Tonight i finally set out to create a sequence. I'm surprised how consistently my beat track was off by. Nearly every key stroke was off by 200ms, and 250ms when it wasn't. Anyway here is my progress.

I have not yet incorporated the background music. I thought i'd have my trees dancing to it.

Can I suggest that you turn it into a Screen Cam style video. Many of us don't have access to Vixen at work. Its also a great deal of effort (at a busy time no less) to download song, sequence and profile and load into Vixen. Especially if you are looking for instant (less than 12 hours) feedback from us :)

Don't take it the wrong way. Perhaps if it were September or October, you would get that kind of response.

CamStudio is a great free Screen Recording tool

I wasn't demanding that you do it that way. It was a suggestion for a more rapid response. If it were September/October, it's likely you would have had a different response.

Nope, i wanted responses. I just thought providing the files was easier. It's not big deal for me to make a video as i do it several times a week. I just never need to have sound, so i did'nt know i've got an issue. :)

If you have a digital camera, you can just take a video of your screen.. with sound and picture...

When I first started sequencing, I tried the beat track method... was HORRIBLE at it.. So, instead, I use the "Audio Visualizer" which is located just above your list of channels in the sequence.. (Just to the left of the row and column size thing)

i'll just try it at home on the laptop, i doubt i've broke it yet :P

I wouldn't subject anyone to my shaky hand.

I had a recollection that on some machines/sound cards, you have loop the output back into the Mic input. Some drivers/cards have that ability, but some do not. You could also put a Mic by the speakers. Sound would be rough, but it would work.

Not an expert, but I remember this from an online learning thing I was doing a number of years ago. One of my content creators kept sending me Screen Cams that had no sound and another suggested this loop-back thing. Don't feel compelled to do it, but screen cams are excellent tools to have on-the-ready.

Yea that would defiantly work. My mic seems to be working fine. Its about time for me to rebuild this beast anyhow. I beat the crap out of it.

As far as the singing voices its seems fine. You certainly need more going on than that to hold anyone's attention. Don't be so critical of yourself. A 1/4 second will not be noitcable to most viewers. Keep working on the other stuff.

Looks pretty good. Keep at it.

One of the things I found, was slowing the audio down to 1/2 speed or even 1/4 speed really helped hit those marks.

However, one piece of advice I was given when I was starting out was that YOU will be more critical of your sequencing than the public will be. You will notice when you are off a 1/2 second, but chances are the public wont even see it. Don't get me wrong, I always try to make sure I hit the mark exactly, when I can, but if I cant, I don't spend two hours trying to get it. :-)

Good luck!
