A Paste with leaving what is already there?

Is there a way to do a combine paste? Say I wanted to leave the existing lights on when they are on, but only add the new routine on top of it? It seems to take forever to create a simple sequence. Am I missing something?

This is my first year and I am only doing a 36 channel megatree. Anyone have a vix file that would get me started?

say chassing candy canes or lights that chase around a mega tree. use the SAVE AS A ROUTINE function. then when you need chasing lights again just load the desired routine. I made a short routine then just kept loading the same routine.
saves lots of time. I used this when I made my dancing candy cane sequence snipet (have vix file under the sequences I posted here. note DO NOT post music files if exchanging sequence files. I have posted several sequences here but none have music. I have indicated where I obtained the music from.

I haven't seen the transparent paste - I'll have to look for it.

Boolean paste - OR should also do the trick.
