I have 160 labeled channels and a vixen profile with an accurate adjustable preview built.

Anyone up for it? I just don't have the time to mess with sequencing. $75-$100 8-10 songs?

Is it even possible to have a few done by Dec 1?

Brain,

Whow, so you are looking for someone to sequence say 10 songs each with an average of 3 minutes for a total of about 30 minutes. From what I have read and experienced most people average a couple of hours up to for to sequence 1 minute of track. So with that said the estimate to sequence your 10 songs would be somewhere between 60 and 120 hours.

I was talking with Dirknerkle the other day and he showed me a technique using the random pattern in Vixen for an entire song and once this has been done go back and highlight a single element such as a star. I would drop him a PM for more information.

This is my first year and several weeks ago I finally determined that the most importnat this is getting the hardware working, then followed by sequencing. Hopefully I whll start my show son with only 4 songs, then during December I will gradually add more..

After many hours of sequencing my first song (I'm only 1:13 into it) I realized my request was absurd. A simple search for custom sequencing ran anywhere from $20,000.00-$40,000.00 per song. I'm getting the hang of it--man it sure is a PITA.

Thanks for the recommendation, I may hunt him down...

Have you tried searching some of the sequence sharing sites? Typically - unless you're very lucky - they won't match your setup but you can use the timing and some display items to get a good start.

www.landolights.com (http://www.landolights.com) is oldcqr's site - almost 300 Vixen sequences!
there is also lorsequences.com which are LOR S1 and S2 sequences but the S2 versions can be converted using the LOR2VIX converter poster here somewhere.

I have used some of them but you need to rebuild them for your display which takes many hours so I just stared making my own, heck once you get the hang of it, it only takes a few days to make good sequence and of course there is fine tuning them after that which could also be very time consuming.

Greg in Canby came over for a visit and after about an hour he quick started me. I am by no means an expert but the whole concept of getting the beat track entered has saved be a lot of time.

Good luck with your sequencing.

Well.. I originally made the mistake of attempting to sequence Wizards In Winter for my first song. Huge mistake...... Way too complicated for my first time.

The wife and I chose Jinglebell Rock by Brian Setzer. I was able to get it sequenced in roughly 6 hours. It turned out pretty well. I haven't been able to test it on the actual lights (just adjustable preview)--as my enclosures haven't arrived yet :/.

UPS claims they'll get here 12/02--hopefully I can get them installed the same day and we'll be up with at least one song--maybe two.
