JDM Programmer and Vista???

hmmm...first major hiccup in my 2010 display.

I cannot find my Pickit 2 :(

So, I pulled out my old JDM programmer, downloaded WinPic800 and cannot seem to get the darn thing to work with Vista. This is being done on a PCIe serial expansion card with 4 ports as COM3,4,5 & 6. WinPic seems to only want to see 1-4.

Anyone have any experience with JDM and Vista?

Try reassigning one of the built-in com ports (such as com 2) to perhaps com8. That should open up com2 so you could perhaps use it as com2. It's just a flyer of an idea, not sure whether Vista even allows it -- for sure you'd have to be in adminstrative mode to reassign a com port.
