rearranging channels

After doing an few sequences to music I discovered my channel layout needed tweeking to accomadate card placment outside. I see you can rearrange channels but will the information on that channel follow the change also?
It's to late in the game to redo the sequence so I'm trying to salvage the old songs to the new channel layout.

Can you have multiple "changes" saved to enable switching back and forth? Can both types of changes (changing output order and changing the grouping of the channels for sequencing ease) be done?

Here's the reason I ask: This will be my first year to hang lights. Over the past two or three weeks, I've added a few objects like flood lights, etc. to my inventory. I use Lynx Express controllers, which are 16 channel controllers. To allow for the fewest extension cords and shortest lengths, it'd be convenient to rearrange my output. And the other side of this is due to my lack of time, procrastination, other priorities, and whatever other excuses I can come up with, it'd be nice to group all channels of the same color in Vixen and then change the order back to group all channels of the same object type (trees, arches, floods, etc) to allow me to finish sequencing before April Fools Day this year. I certainly don't want to create a new profile from scratch.

I typically save off several "re-ordering of label" setups when I am simply re-arranging the labels (not changing output ports). You create and recall them in the pull down menu called "Channel Order".

When I re-arrange the outputs (different port to channel assignment), I usually create a new profile under the Profile / Manage tab. When I need to change port assignments, I simply use the appropriate Profile.

Note: You can have several pre-defined channel label orders that you can call up within a Profile.
