I am running vixing 2.1 (more sequences constructed out there) and was wanting to copy a channel of sequences from someones already constructed sequence (same song). Is there any special requirements for this to work. When i tried last night (first time user) it did not work. Any help would be appreciated. I am only running 40 channels and copring from some of those 138 channel monsters.

thanks, appreciate the help.

also looking for same thing. We are trying to open a sequence from another person. The sequence opens with no channels listed and no sequencing. the file has a good size to it, so i know something is there. I am pretty sure the file had been flattened, which i thought brought the profile into the sequence.

diggird, if this is totally different than your situation, let me know and i will remove this post.

No big secret or trick. In the source sequence, I right click on the channel name and select "copy channel events to clip board" or something like that. I am at work so no Vixen, but it is the second to last choice I think. Then go to your new sequence, select the channel you want and right click, select "Paste entire channel events from clip board" it is the third to last choice I think.

A few tips. To open someone elses sequence, ensure you have their profile available in your profile folder.

To copy sequence data from one to another, you must have both sequences open in the same running Vixen application. I open Vixen, then open both sequences you are working with. From there, you can copy from highlighting blocks of cells or you can copy and past channel events for an entire channel, one at a time.

Couple things you need the profile to get the channels listed, Also make sure you use the same ms rate. If it is vix to vix copying then you can use the tools copy sequence data if it is lor to vix the timing really never matches up unless you try something like in this post really helped me out.

Or you could use tools>copy sequence event data, which enables you to link channels from one sequence to the channles in another sequence simoultaneously.;

so when you flatten a sequence, you still need to profile? Sorry guys, can't get a wiki here at work.

No, if you flatten it you won't, but it had to be available when it was "flattened"

Thanks I will try again, this was my first attempt at copying. I may start a new sequence from scratch and then try to cp to it.

I will let you know if that works, also what actually is flattening?

thanks again

Is there a way to clear all channel events in one click with out having to do each channel one at a time?

If you right click the channel, it is one of the options that comes up.

Yes that works to clear that channel. I want to clear an entire sequence at in one click and dont think it can be done. Thanks
