They aren't great, but I think they represent a good place for First Year folks. There are probably a few more Channels than the average First year, but you can easily extract them out.

Thanks for sharing (it helps those of us who haven't yet started sequencing). I haven't looked at the sequence yet, but after watching the videos you put up I'm interested in "borrowing" some of the stuff from Winter Wonderland. I should probably know this by now given the amount of youtube videos i've seen, but who is this version of the song done by? I need go purchase it from Amazon...

I will admit to being puzzelled. How do you get the sequences to open?
I placed vixen 2.1 on computer, running windows 7, downloaded the music box dancer, and that is as far as I got.
I will only being running about 40 channels. my main priority is my arches.
I admire the way the arches are sequenced.

You will need to place the components in their proper sub folders in your Vixen folder.
Vix file in Sequences
Pro file in Profiles
.mp3 in Audio
Then load Vixen and Load the Sequence. Should work perfectly.
BTW... These are 2.1 version files. I can't remember if they will work in 2.5 without conversion.

so i am brand new to this going from the Lights and Sounds of Christmas sequencing box from Home Depot to trying out Vixen. Haven't used the software yet, but i do have question.
how do you make and run those arch's are there several light strands hooked to separate channels or all one line of lights end to end on one channel??
i am sure i'll have lots of other questions this summer when i begin my set up, but that will start off my brain working if you can answer that.
Thanks,

Troy ... Welcome to DIYC...
The arches that you are talking about are generally PVC pipe with light mulitple light strings wrapped around them covering individual sections of the arch. Then each string (segment) can be fired independently from the Vixen software. Note that each segment of the arch is a separate channel. If you were to have an arch divided into 8 segments and each segment had three colors (red, white, green for example), you would need a 24 channel controller for that one arch.
Hope this helps.. now is the time to start thinking about Christmas 2011. Lots of good help and a whole lot of help in the Christmas Wiki at the top of the screen...
