Help please. My 'mega' tree will have 12 channels. I will only put one string of 100 count mini lights per channel. So what is that, 12 * .33 amps = ~ 4 amps?

I'm planning to mount my 3 SSR pcb's (3 X 4 SSR's = 12 channels) inside a bucket or something. I'd like to run 1 power cord to the bucket. I want to use a computer power cable. I'm looking at one right now and it's 18 AWG.

I will want to tie all the neutrals together on this 18 AWG computer power cable. I guess I will buy some 18 AWG lamp cord to make the hot connections.

Does anyone see any problems with this? I'm sorry, I've done a little searching and can't find the answer on my own. Thanks.

Sounds like it will be fine the way you are describing it.

Glenn,

I'm using 16 Guage SPT-2 wire to run all of my lights from the SSR boards.

I use 18AWG for my SSr's and if it can be used with 110AC on a computer cable it should work for us!!

I used 18/2 lamp cord for the 120v supply for my mega-tree bazooka. I never thought about it. Have 63 of the 64 channels used. Melted that poor bastard.

I got a 12/3 heavy duty extention cord and cut the one plug off and wired it up. That baby doesn't even get warm!
