I using Renard 8's spread out in the yard. Once in a while, fairly randomly, I get channel #8 coming on and staying on for more than one pulse on a few of the controllers. I'm using the internal clock at 8 MHz and 19200 baud. I thought maybe the communication isn't quite right, maybe due to the cold and the internal clock being off. But then I would have thought the dimming wouldn't be very smooth if the clock was off.
Any other ideas? It's not a show stopper, but a little troubling.

I'm thinking a good tool to have would be a way to look at the RS485 steam in hex and try to see any problems.

5 Renard 8s on one com port is where I'm seing the problem. I'm seeing the problem on #2,3,5. I might have the same problem on 1 and 4, but I can't tell as the lights are very random by the program on those channels.

I have 80 channels on another com port (8MHz 19200) without a problem (that I can see). However there are only two 485 chips on two 40 channel boards.

I'm using 50ms timing. I'll downgrade to 100ms tomorrow and see if it's any different.

Any other suggestions?

All of the Renard 8, on the line have this problem.

I swapped the serial lines and it seamed to have cleared it up. Might be the computer..... um.
