I don't understand why one has to have a completely different way of making a sequence to run it in the background....why cant an existing sequence br converted into a form that this scripting doo-hickey will understand and use?

Well it is kind of possible to do what you suggest, but not with a script.
Just make a 20 second vixen standard sequence, i named mine "background". Then in the scheduler, tell it to run the background sequence all the times your normal sequence isn't running.
Until I figure out this script thing, I'll just use that method.

I read some of your other posts about that very thing. I have been playing around with the scheduler and I will try out what you suggest... Thanks

Can the scheduler be set up to schedule "by the minute" instead of "by the hour"?

Yes, just highlight the time and replace it with what you want. I think when you look at after you do it, it shows back to the 30 minute interval, but still go with the input you gave.

I'll try thay again,... it was not looking good to be away from the house for any length of time.

Okay, that is a little weird... I think you are correct, and it is working, but when I reopen the schedule it doesn't remember my input. But it looks like I have successfully created a schedule to run from 6:15-9:45 by selecting start 6:15, duration end time 9:30 (3 1/2 hours) which is really 9:45.

Another question,. Does Vixen have to be running for the scheduler to work?
I believe yes
And it must be running at the START time of a sequence.... otherwise you have to select programs-reset current timer to get something to run if you run vixen after the kickoff time.
