I had only 3 songs finished for tonight but I had approx. 40 cars come and watch the show. The lines have already started.
How did everybody elses show go for the first night?

One car here for me. Had a Windows error pop up and stop the show during the visit too. :(
zero cars for me, as far as I know, I posted on all the websites I could think of, and referred by others. Where do you guys post?
I need to get myself added to the local newspaper I'm told....
I sent out an email announcement to 50 friends tonight, that should help.

fudge, i'm still setting up :( People have been taking pictures though and it's not even all strung up, lol.
Our local newspaper had everybody submit their displays a month ago. The map with all of the displays hit the news stands today.

Mine was done by word of mouth.
Had two nights so far and all went well. Had mainly family and friends first night no one else was told. Last night I had put a flier up at work so we had a lot of people including maybe 50 kids. It was a lot of fun.

Only have had a few cars since I started my show yesterday night. Has anyone else ran into people not tuning in the music on their car stereos? I have a lighted sign in the corner of my yard, though with all the blinky lights, guess it's been going un-noticed.

I'm still on my '08 schedule.......:)
I'm still settting up
looking like I'll have 96 channels out in time to take them back down at this rate.. But I'm having a blaster doing it

Had my first night with 3 sequences. Not 100% complete on setup, so it will get bigger this week when I get another Renard build.
Had about 10 cars stop, mostly word of mouth when it would be on. I expect more as word spreads.

I've been running for about 6 nights now.
The street has been EMPTY.
I looked out the window every hour or two, and never saw a single car.
Well tonight, my wife stepped out the front door to do something, and she proclaimed "car! car! car!". I jumped up and looked out the front window, sure enough. They watched for probably 10 minutes, and then moved the car to get the show at another angle for a while.
Then a while later, another car!
Two cars tonight! Hopefully the word spreads!

Don't sweet it. Once word gets out people will come. It takes awhile. I have been doing this for 5 years and my first year was very little traffic.
So its 10pm, I'm out front loading skis up for tommorow, show went off line at 9:45 (no cars tonight that I saw, but we weren't home). Anyway this car pulls up real slow and stops, I walk over, they roll down the window "show off tonight?".
ME: nope, it turns off at 9:30, but I'll fire it up for you
Them: Its so cool!!! thank you!
They are out there watching (I'm watching them on the security camera), and they must have called their friends, because another car is now parked out there! :)
Yeah! Word is spreading :) Ahh the power of cell phones.

I run 5 to 11 PM. Traffic from some of the local shopping areas pass my house, so have seen quite a few visitors between 9~11.

I've had quite a few lookers, but now everything is down, so here I sit awaiting my new relay boards from njamateur, thanks to him it should be up again early this week. and the daily herald contacted my neighbors looking for me, so I have to get it running.
Well last night we had at least 10 confirmed viewers.
Word is spreading!
well it was slow M-F, a few cars each night.
Tonight was a pileup. Tons of cars, people getting out of their cars, cars waiting in line. Some honking (not good!), people blocking driveways, one guy parallel parked, but instead of wheels against the curb, he backed in so the front of his car was pointing at my house (nice guy, left his lights on too!). That was awkward, my wife and I were laughing, but I hope everyone isn't that dumb. Anyway, I slipped out the back door, took the dog on a walk, and just kinda laughed as I walked by the traffic jam, all with windows down, stereos blasting...... I hope I don't get to talk to the police :)
The teenagers are the worst as far as bass on their stereos....
Jingle bells (thump thump thump) Jingle bells (thump thump) Jingle all the way! (thump thump thump)

We have been pretty steady around here, couple cars at a time most of the night and then last night, WOW! 5-6 cars at a time up until 9pm. Best donations night we have had at about 40$. Going to drop off the donations to the charity this afternoon at $100.00 so far. I love it when I am sitting in the house and I can hear the music outside blaring from the cars, kinda makes me laugh. The best part is hearing the kids screaming with joy and laughing! Thats what it's all about!
Gotta love these blinking flashing lights!

I have found that usually the ones that have their lights on, are cars that have the 'auto' headlights and cannot turn them off., usually GM vehicles. I had asked a few to turn theirs off and they just could'nt figure out how.
Glad your getting exposure!
The coolest thing I have seen so far is a lady had a baby out of the car holding it up to watch (about 8months old) it was the widest eyed spectator yet. :)

I had some of that too!
Their was one car parked "left wheels to curb" (illegally) and it was pointing at the car that was backed in against the curb, a lady got out, ran over to the backed in car, took an infant (maybe 1 year old?) out of a car seat and paraded it around the lights! (with the stereo blasting so they could hear the music from 100 feet way). !!!!!

I have a 97 Suburban, lights are always on. Until one day I hit the parking brake before shutting the car off. :o Lights went off!
My 98 ford was the same way, it was a manual, my new truck is an automatic, haven't tried that yet..... (never use the parking brake, it is flat here)
