Tryin to install Vix but won't let me ERROR MESS

I'm new to Vixen but annot install. I installed the Mirco Net 2.0 first as indicated on the website. I then tried to install the Vixen. I get to extract files and it begins but then goes to an error mess to report to Microsoft . I'm Running XP

it sounds to me like you are not running net 2.0
get it here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en

and then see what happends

I loaded MS Net 2.0 and still won't start.

Did you check your add/remove programs window?

make sure it actually installed.

I did an unisnatll and reinstall of the framework 2.0 and still no luck. Same message keeps comingup to send error message to MS
I'm doing one more time now and we'll see. it takes quite a bit of time the file is about 23 mb
The control panel tells me it's installed but I can't get the program to install.
I see 2.0 1.0 1.11 and some security apps too. So it tells me it's in there but the progarm is not recognizing 2.0. I don't thin it's vixen. i think there is registry problem. I did a gogle and found some similar issues. One person re formated his entire C drive. Not interested in that. i'll buy another puter first. I have no problems with this unit. But I'll buy another jus to run the lights. I have to sign off for now it won't install with apps running.

Any further help or suggestions is greatly appreicate.... THANK YOU!

GREAT responses here and fast. Lots of help...
Well as I suspected it was something really stupid.

Apparently when extracing the files the program was being saved in a documents and setting folder. Framework was not recognizing the program in this folder. I saved the program where it should have been in the "Program Folder' and sure enough it worked.

Now I have to learn how to use it. this should be another interesting post i'm sure.
