“Official Announcement”

The Minnesota Mini – Fall 2010 will be on Saturday October 23rd starting at 1:00 PM. It will go until people go home… (If you stay late, we can do a group buy for pizza or something… )

My address is 7877 131st Street West in Apple Valley, MN (See http://www.andersonlights.com/home/?page_id=16 for a map).

If possible, please bring a snack or dessert to share.

You’re welcome to bring and show off anything you are working on. Hardware, light holders, controllers…

One more thing, please feel free to share this invitation with the folks on other boards. The more Christmas lights / decorating people that can come, the better!

It should be fun to see and hear all the new ideas people have come up with over the last year!

Ernie,

Is Mark a DIYC member? Did he ask you to post the notice here? Are DIYC members welcome, too? Is he looking for an RSVP? I know Apple Valley is a pretty large township, but that can't be too far from your house, is it?

He's not a member here. He's still LOR but we can work on that.:)

Yes as now highlighted above "please feel free to share this invitation with the folks on other boards".

He didn't say anything about the RSVP though I had previously mentioned that he might want to. I'll ask again though.

Yes he's about 1.5 miles north of me.

I'm here too, and 2010 is the year of my conversion! :D

I think from the number of people who said they are interested, we'll have a decent turnout.

If people want to RSVP, great, but I also don't want to prevent people from showing up because they didn't RSVP in time... :)

Ernie, thank you for posing it over here! ...Now I should probably logon to LoR and see if anyone posted it over there.

I assume this Mini is still on. And deserves a bump about now.

I had planned on attending but all my Saturdays until Thanksgiving are taken up with day-long rehearsals for an opera...

Yes, we are still on, a week and a half to go!

dirknerkle,
we'll miss you. Have fun at the opera rehearsal - are you going to share details as to when the show times are?

Got a count on how many?

I don't really know...

I've got enough food for 20-25 people, but based on responses, it's probably closer to half that.

I'm hoping people who haven't responded show up ;)

Yah, wish I could have... BUT... the director blocked all the stage movement for the entire 2nd act, and had I not been there, it would be verrrrrrrry hard to learn...

I was just pulling your leg VBG At least some of us have a life besides Blinky Flashy ...... Or do I have it backwards ..... Huuummmmm .....

I was just pulling your leg

I know.... I can always tell because I start walking with a limp...

"Having a life beyond blinky-flashy" is an interesting concept. This hobby can certainly consume one's time, to be sure. It's truly important to get out of that box every now and then and broaden your horizons. Why, just this last weekend, for example, my "horizon" proved to be a little broader than the pants that were surrounding it and a pretty funny situation occurred in our rehearsal

I have 4 strings of lites and an SSR I need to put on my singing choir frame arch and I'll be officially done with display construction for this year.

Wish I could have been at the mini last Saturday... dang... maybe next year...
