I was thinking of making a dipole antenna for my MBB and was wondering first about the cable from the transmitter to the antenna and then about the SMA connector on the MBB for the antenna. Can I use RG6 with that type connector first and second is RG6 going to be OK to use at all? Also I was looking at radioshack.com for a balun and dont see what I think you guys are talking about using. I was also looking at these and modifying to fit my transmitter and then putting in PVC.

a balun from what i've heard is just one of those snap on ferrite beads, i may be wrong but thats what i remember and would DEFINATLY use on the power cord of the transmitter because it did wonders for my static issues.

YES! Only thing you need to watch out for with the "snap-on ferrite core chokes" like that is that they fit around the cable. They're an excellent addition and can really help a lot with these low-powered devices.

The balun can also just be (3-4) 6"-diameter loops of the leader cable positioned immediately before the antennae.
