Tested something new (for me at least) today, that will extend my USB cable up to 150 feet enabling me to put my Ren-W transmitter on top of the roof and leaving the computer in the office. It works great and I am really pushing the limits on these ports. I am currently running two USB ports for my two transmitters. I am transmitting over 320 channels at 50ms and the Ren-W's are receiving great. I have attached the link if you would like more information on this extender. I have also attached a layout of how we are laying out the neighborhood this year.
Hope this helps anyone using the USB ports this year.

Sounds like a great project. Can't wait to see videos of the neighborhood in sync.

One thing to note is that they only work on USB 1.0 and 1.1 devices.
If you need something for USB2.0 you will need an active extender like this one http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030304&p_id=6149&seq=1&format=2

I have that one also, and it works the same. Only bad part is the 33 foot limits. You can couple 2 or 3 together per the instructions, but then it gets a little pricey. The really nice part about Dave's Ren-W is that it does not require USB 2.0. Fortunately our data rate is not that fast. Sure makes life easier knowing we can extend this communication line.
