I'm curious how others stay organized?
I'm quite happy with my spreadsheet approach to managing channels, hookups, and current, fuses, etc. It was really fast to hook up lights and do repairs/troubleshoot.
But I'm not happy with my method of planning how I'm going to layout the lights.... I repeated the design of my lights 10 times, and every time, I never could really draw it properly. I never knew how much of what to purchase, i caught myself guessing a lot. Luckily i finished in time to purchase what i still needed, and also, i suckered a few friends into getting into the hobby so I sold my extra stuff (a ton of extra stuff) to them. How did you do it? Teach me :) School me! Save me time and pain next year please!
To get specific, i was 50% under on my estimate of SPT1 to purchase, and I never was able to accurately count how many SPT1 plugs I needed, because I had already ordered some, had some stuff 1/2 assembled, and didn't really know what was where.... (I know, it is called subtraction, but I lacked the organization to know what to subtract from what).
