I joined this forum late last summer and want to thank everyone who taught me so much. My interest was to light the laminar water stream from my home built fountain. My interest grew so much that I am now working on controlling the RGB lighting through DMX.

I am running individual red, green, and blue 5 watt LED's which are controlled by a LED programmer. The light is transmitted into the water stream using 3 mm
plastic fiber optic cable which is connected to a 1/2 inch diameter plexiglass rod which is in line with the outlet water stream.

I finally got it completed and it works.

Very cool I'm glad we could be a resource to you. We as a community have really come a long way. I think its great that the vast amounts of knowledge contained here is benefiting both holiday lighting and non-holiday lighting communities alike.

I stepped it up a bit and installed a 40 watt RGB LED from
http://www.ledengin.com/ledengin_products-dataLZ.htm.
It runs very hot and attached a PC heatsink and fan.

All DMX parts are now in and will build the DMX dongle and DCSSR boards to control everything.

Wicked cool man - that thing runs hot even with that honking heat sink/fan - - wow...

Didn't get anywhere near trying the laminar stuff this year - hopefully next year - I'd love to have at least two fountains in the corners of my pool next summer!

Good job there for sure!

Outstanding effect! Nice clear colors. I priced out one of the LEDs... are they really $66?

Nice job!

Yes - $60 at Mouser. They have the best selection of LEDENGIN products.
After all there are a total of 12 LEDS in there. Its way cool.
