Well i have my grinch built along with the ssrs wired in my lights today over 1000ft of wire 8) and ran it thought a few tests nothing worked 8( so i noticed a post about volts on the port. i droped the voltage to 4.6 supply. still nothing. I droped it then to 3.7 and Almost everything worked had a few issues bad connection on the neutral splice but im 80% complete with issues. I have 4 channels not working 3 on one ssr and 1 on another ssr. I started getting into figureing it out but too dark out. What would cause this Oh by the way i have the grinch and ssrs in the same encloser a 14x14 encloser. All cables are shielded and the port cable is about 4 feet long. Could the voltage be too low to not trigger all the ssrs??

Flint,
Congrats on your success. You issues of the channels not working on the ssrs triple check your cable connections from the controller to the ssrs. I had a few bad crimps last year causing the same type of issues.

Flint,
a great investment is a CAT 5 Cable tester.
Cut, Crimp and test every time.

1 thought 4 seem to work ok 5-8 act weired when i turn on 8 , 18 turns on when i turn 8 off and back on 8 and 18 acting very wierd soo im thinking back to my voltage to my grinch hmmm 3.7 too low for supply voltage should i try the4.5 volt power supply i have when i had one ssr and the 4.5 power supply hooked up nothing worked but now that i have the 5 ssrs hocked up maybe it will work i don't know hmm.

Before Anyone goes nuts trying to figure out why your lights arn't flashing or the sequence is off GO BUY A Regulated Adjustable Power Supply. So after spending a few nights with different power supplies and still not working right i decided to head to my local electroics supply house and i picked up a 0-5 volt regulated adjustable power supply for a wonderfull $25. Hooked it up after a few attempts i was tooned into the Perfect voltage to switch my lights off and on 4.63 volts. They are working Great now Sequencing dead on have 2 channels that arn't working but i don't care the rest are working wonderfull.

Just as I wrote in the manual. For me, it was 4.67V. I have both a LAB power supply for testing and a 10$ LM317 regulator setup for my show PC. I runn the Input off the 12 V rails, and provide 4.67 to the GRINCH.

the power supply i was using was a 4.6 volt but was putting out 4.8 volts so this nice adjustable one makes it soo easy to adj your voltage 8)
