I have several SX28 chips I'm going to "retire" and thought a christmas light dimmer would be a good way to do that. (I say retire because of the eof and I'm moving on to propeller).
I've loaded lboucher's firmware for the SX but I'm having problems getting it to work.
I'm not sure if it my settings on Vixen (2.1.4.0), my com port, or something with the chip.
I have been using the Parallax USB2SER for my prior deveopments and perhaps this is my problem.
All I know is my LED is is on constantly, maybe a flicker as I test channels and I see the USB RX and TX data being sent back and forth but then back to full on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you used the SX programming tool to load code, then you attached the USB2SER adapter to communicate with it?

Where is the code and schematic?

I use the SX development took and board to load the code and then run in debug. The USB2SER is connected as well on a seperate com port. COM3 for the SX-USB key and COM4 for the USB2SER.
I'm working on getting the latest firmware from lboucher right now and then testing some more. I'll post any progress. My initial guess is that it's my settings with the USB2SER but I want to make sure I have the latest program loaded before I get to that.

Check out http://www.efx-tek.com
http://forums.efx-tek.com
You will need to join the forum, there you will find all sorts of ideas and code to help with what you are wanting to do. The PropSX that they sell is based on the SX28. If you have any questions you can Email Johnnymac he is a close friend of mine and he will help you. The two guys that started efx-tek were two of Parallax's best engineers.
Check them out.
