This is my first year computerizing lights and I am just curious how long a show should be? What I have set up right now is about 20 mins which seems like a decent amount of time. I am thinking that any longer and the kids might actually get bored with it. What are the experienced lighting creators thinking about show length?

I've heard, 2 min max song length, and 10 min max show length, but everyone goes there own way on this topic.
My total show this year (my first year)
2:20 song 1
3:00 song 2
1:30 song 3
2:30 song 4
-----
9:20 total

Tell us about the voice overs, like what do you say, how often, when, etc....
I'm thinking of having my 4 year old (turning 5 next month) say "please don't block driveways, and remember to turn off your headlights, and donate money to charity xyz".

That is pretty much what mine are, but don't forget the most important one.... The reason for the season... the birth of Jesus Christ.

People that visit (ie. traffic/vehicles) will likely stay for just one show, with the exception of those totally fascinated by all of it. I would suspect this should be taken into consideration to assist for the smoothest possible traffic of those visiting in front of your home.

Go to www.thedementedelf.com to check out some free voiceovers and some samples. I have used them and they are very good. I recommend them to everyone. If you contact or purchase from them let them know I sent you.

it was $15 for me - I added my own background music.
Also, the original sounds better - its a skype voicemail number (cheap)

My Christmas in July ran about 22 minutes,
but that was nice weather, sitting or standing around the campsite.
With one more song added, it will be split into even day, odd day sets.
Coming in around 14 minutes each.I'm on a bad section of road and don't want to stack them up.
