Details as are follows:

This group buy is for the ren24 version 3.3 or 4.0 parts kits. I can program pics for anyone who needs it. Each kit will contain the BOM listed below.

This coop will end on 20 March 2010, or when the 50 participant limit or 150 kit limit is reached.

I will contact the participants with exact payment via pm prior to placing the order for parts. Payments can be made by check or PayPal.

Also if anyone will need the PIC chips programed before sending let me know when I send you the payment address.

Part kits will be shipped by Priority mail and shipping price quoted if for US only. Anyone wishing to participate in this group buy who does not reside in the United States needs to PM me for a shipping quote.

I will let each participant know their total due once the parts are on order.

Over 50 – 49.75 (+Shipping & paypal)
Over 100 - 46.00 (+Shipping & paypal)

I ran 1 kit, it’s 73.94. This will save everyone 20.00 - 25.00 per kit.

participant list - reload this page in your browser to make sure you are seeing the latest chart.

http://www.calvinmitcham.com/pic.png

4/1/10 - i received the back-ordered part today, and shipped some packages. all remaining packages should ship tomorrow.

3/23/10 - shipping has started. i have a few more that can ship before i run out of angled screw terminal blocks. mouser has moved their expected delivery from 4/16 to 4/30. i really tried, but i can find no other supplier for these terminal blocks on the planet :(

i do need a favor. you will find some of your parts packed in tubes, just as they came to me from the supplier. i cut some tubes to break up the orders, and used tape at the ends to hold the parts in. before you pm or email me with parts shortages, make sure your part is not stuck to the tape at both ends of the tube.

3/15/10 - prices posted include paypal fee and shipping. send paypal money to calvin@calvinmitcham.com. chicken and international orders, i will get your prices posted as soon as i can get your shipping total. please make sure the paypal info matches your real name to your username, and shows me the shipping address.

3/12/10 - the parts are here. i am all about getting the lowest cost, so i was optimistic and ordered parts for 150 units. please tell all your friends about the 28 we still have available. the only (partial) back-ordered part is the angled terminal block, i got 485 and 115 will ship on 4/16. so the first 121 kits ship as soon as paid, the last 29 have to wait.

speaking of $$, within 1-2 days, i will see how many kits i can get in which size flat rate boxes, and post your totals in the chart above. i know and noted above the two orders that ship outside the usa. if i missed you, and you need shipping outside the usa, let me know.

free shipping to anyone who wants to pick up there kit(s) in oxford, michigan, and to anyone that wants to pick them up at light-up-ohio. unless there is an emergency, i plan to be there.

The confusion sometimes is which of Franks boards. This is for Frank's Renard 24 HC. Either the 3.3 or 4.0 versions.

This is NOT for Frank's Renard 24 LV board. If you need that Richf is currently running a co-op for that.

The Ren 24 also fits well in the CG-1000 (http://www.yourbroadbandstore.com/product.php?pid=201838), and it will save you a couple of bucks. There is still free shipping on any order over $75.00, and you get a DIYC discount if you call your order in. (Be sure you mention that you are a member).

BOM is in the first post of this thread. YOU will need to have the boards to put the parts on to as this is for the parts only.

cmitcham
02-22-2010, 10:41 PM
the bom is posted in the first post of the thread.

you need printed circuit boards, they do not come with the parts kit. there is a group buy for them going on now, at http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10844.

other than that, just wait till the coop is over, and i will post the exact costs with shipping.

post #2 updated with prices. as soon as i figure out what box(es?) will hold 30 units, i will post your price chicken. also, international orders will post as soon as i get shipping cost.

our per kit cost came to 41.69. i added .56 for labels and supplies for a kit price of 42.25. orders of 1 kit fit in a small flat rate box ($4.95), but 2 kits do not. the medium box ($10.70) easily holds up to ten kits, but i'm not sure yet about 30. and as always, paypal wants 30 cents plus 3%.

paypal me at calvin@calvinmitcham.com before the credit card bill gets here and the wife kills me.

we do have a partial back-order on some of the terminal blocks that will ship to me on 4-16, so if you know you will not get to building before then, please volunteer to wait till then for shipping.

26 kits still available, as our group buy is open till 3-20-10. tell your friends.

Hi Calvin

I want to buy 2 of the Ren24 kits. But, I have two questions.

1) In your spread sheet you have a "pwm program" column. I would like my PICs programmed but what does PWM programmed me as a uposed to what?

2) I have never sent PayPal payment to someone before who did not have a "click-and-pay" setup like on Ebay... I see your email address but I have not clue as to how to get the payment over to you.

Here is my email address in case you have time to drop me a note

everyone else - everyone's price is finally ready in post #2. look there and make sure what i have looks good. sometimes i have to hit re-load in my browser to make sure the latest version of the picture shows up.

make sure again that your paypal receipt shows me your diyc name and your shipping address.

looks like some of you borrow your wife's paypal account. that is fine, but be nice to her so when the parts come, she will let you have them :)

i'm usually on live chat 10-11pm edt if you want to talk to me.

2 days left, a few kits still available!

So if this board will work at 240V (the Wiki doesn't mention any 240V Renards), and it's not too late, I'd like to be in for 2 kits plus programming.

thanks for the vote of confidence, but i'm going to go ahead and suggest we all take some time while we wait for the boards and go ahead and check the contents of our boxes against the packing list.

...and go ahead and get those tps reports done too.

Pre-sale items are items advertised for sale before the seller has control
or possession of the items. These generally consist of items that are sold
prior to the item's availability to the general public, or that are sold by
the seller with the intention of using the payment to go out and purchase
the item being sold.

PayPal does permit pre-sales on a limited basis, as long as the seller
guarantees and reasonably expects that the item will be shipped within 20
days from the date of purchase, and that he clearly informs the buyer that
the item is a pre-sale item.

so, in a nutshell, paypal will not let me have any of the money you folk have sent me. the only way to get any money to help pay my credit card bill in a couple weeks would be to refund the paypal payments for the packages that haven't already shipped, and you send me a check. that would only net me about $1500, so we're not going to do that.

richf has found the angled terminal blocks for me, so i don't think we will be waiting for the april 30th parts, so if i can get them and ship this week, maybe i can have tracking numbers that satisfy paypal by the middle of april. if not, i assure you my wife will kill me.

Paypal shows the money I sent to you was sent and completed. I trust I am ok, since you havent refunded any paypal transaction.
Sorry your having these problems (kinda makes one think twice before they do ad group buy huh), in any event, If you have to refund my paypal, no problems, I would transfer the money to my bank account and then send you my personal check.
I truly thank you for your efforts

ok, i am still shaking, but a little calmer already :)

don't anyone worry about refunds, in fact the two of you who haven't paid can go ahead and use paypal.

the couple of you who have mentioned wanting extras, firm up your plans via email or pm.

the part we are waiting on should be in my hands this thursday. eight minutes after i get them, they will be in your boxes headed to the post office :)

33 minutes after i get them, they will be behind the counter at the post office, and i will have the usps tracking number for big brother paypal. within 4 days, when the tracking number says delivered, big brother should let me have my money.

if all that works, i should live to see this summer :)

All present and accounted for. Now I just need to have some eye work done so that I can actually tell one part from another.

Thanks again.

Parts list for the coop is in the first post.

heat sinks if you feel you need then are in the fastener isle at your favorite DIY home repair store. Look for 1" Aluminum stock.
