Can someone point me to a thread/WIKI on what is needed to convert the RENARD 24 to DMX. I know I need different firmware and a DMX dongle (where to get it), but there has been references to a REN to DMX board earlier. My senior moments are getting in the way again.

http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/wiki/index.php?title=Renard_Firmware points to the .asm code (you need MPLAB IDE to compile) for DMX. You can set the starting address in the .asm code file. I would suggest getting RPM's Enttec Pro-like dongle clone - not sure he has any boards available but give him a ping. I seem to recall the pinout is a bit different between the Renard and the dongle but that is a simple cable build. Don't know anything about a REN to DMX - maybe you're thinking of DMX-Grinch converter?

Thanks Budude, I understand all of that what I was referring to is this reference (http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10954) to REN toDMX that I dont understand. He has since edited out the reference of the ren to DMXboards he had for sale. Perhaps he was referring to RPM's boards.
Thanks again

I don't know anything about them at all, but I think I've seen those mentioned on cbell's website maybe?

Hope that helps,

There are several posts on my site that talk about my adventures with getting my Ren24 working with DMX, but ultimately the best information I had came from this post that Phil wrote.
