Frank,

Your link to board discussion links back to the RGB+W Mighty mini flood.

You web store states "Each unit consists of three 3/4" by 18" long white with black silkscreen LED PCB's. There are no components included in the PCB purchase."

That means each board has 3 strips, correct? That means if I want 12 strips I need to order 4 boards, correct?

Also, there has been other discussions about these boards in my LED coop threads.

There seems to be confusion about how to power these. If running off a Ren24 lv, common anode LED is what is required, right?

Second, how many strips (Both half and fully populated) can you safely run off of a Ren24LV?

Thanks
Todd

I can get this one, 18 RGB Superflex Led in parallel and 18 single color (white, UV, red, green, blue) Superflex in parallel.

Frank,
I am wondering the same thing. I am not sure I understand what is included.

One order = 3 strips with no other components - you will need to buy LEDs, Resistors and RJ45s to complete the strips. There are coops for both the RGB and White LEDs going on now.

The strips require DC control from either a DCSSR or from a ULN2803 driver (like from the Ren24LV). There are limitations with the ULN2803 if you plan to fully populate the strips. Personally, if I was starting from scratch I would go with RPM's DCSSR16 - DMX controller and DCSSR all in one... I used the Renard Simple controllers (16 channel) and DCSSRs for my strips - it worked great for me. I used an old rack mount server power supply for 5V power - but could have gone with 12v as well.

I see there is a coop for rgb led's and strips boards how many of each do i need and what does each order get me. this is where im a little confused.

The strips can be ordered from Franks's store - one order is three strips. Each strip can hold UP TO 18 SuperFlux RGB LEDs and UP TO 18 SuperFlux White/Warm White LEDS (you can use any color actually). The coops for the RGB and White LEDs are for 60 LEDs. This will fully populate all 3 strips (18x3 = 54 LEDs) and provide a few extras as spares. So that part is easy - for every order from Franks, you want 1 order of RGB and 1 order of White if you want to fully populate them. You will also need UP TO 72 resistors. The R, G, B and W colors need a resistor for each LED. Which ones - well - that is the part you will need to determine based upon the power supply you plan to use. I would not use over 12vdc if you can help it.

Either really - they are separate from each other - the strip holds up to 18 RGB AND up to 18 white LEDs. You can go all RGB, all White or anything in-between! Note also that you can put other single color LEDs into the white LED position (no coop though) - like UV, orange, yellow. I don't mean to mention these to confuse you but if you are planning to use for other holidays like Halloween orange or UV are kind of cool.

I didn't put white in my 19 strips but plan to add it now (i'm in the coop). I'm also getting 6 more strips almost exclusively for Halloween so will get a mix of different colors besides the RGBs for different effects for those.

The coop will be completly closed sometime after the closing time (IE orders can be placed up until that time.)

** Please note: I will be *** SHUTTING OFF *** the store at that point, and it will become inaccessable while I perform some major back end changes over the next week.

Is there a guide to use a 12vdc power supply? Which resistors.
