Can anyone help me with a programing problem. I am using an ICD2 clone and whenever I connect I get this message:
ICDWarn0020: Invalid target device id (expected=0x8C, read=0x1FF)
I also have no way of knowing if the PIC is actually getting programed.

On another note, I saw something about the REnard 24 and the Renard 64 are not pinned the same. So if I am using 4 Renard 24's and 3 Renard 64's what would A: be the best order to connect my boards? B: What kind of cable do I need to make or what do I need to do to connect the 24 and the 64 together?

Thank you for any and all help,
Brian

Can't speak to the programmer issue, I would guess it is NOT getting programmed.

I don't have either of the boards. However, I have a similar problem with some that I built. I would put all of the 64's together then the 24's. The cable between the 64's and the first 24 would then need pins 4/5 swapped on one end (blue in my cat5 scheme)

I'm not real sure on the programming, but it sounds like you have not chosen the correct PIC in the programming software.

As for the board conections, the cable to connect the 64 and the Ren24 togeter, you can swap pins 4 & 5 posistions and should work.
There is a recent thread about this by Mudsculpter.

That error message makes me think that your PIC is not properly seated in the programming socket, or that you have the wrong socket for that particular PIC.
