What effects =shimmer on 595

I just added some shimmer etc effects to my candy cane setup and realized that my candy canes are going to be controled using the Olson 595 and not a Renard 64.
Question is what effects come about using shimmer etc. on a 595 controller?

j/k, but not really, the best way to see what the effects do is to 'hook'em up'. :wink:

LOML wants to go visit the grandkid in Vancouver wash. No time to play with until I get back on Nov 25th.
Dosn't give me much time to test much less get all my display up.
Waiting for parts for Renard64 (missed ordering resistor networks, db9 plugs etc.
