Wonder why you don't see huge, powerful LEDs? *I* wondered after all. Welll, here's the reason why...

I cant see powerful LEDs at all either.

Mind you when I switch them off and give it a hour or two for the spots to fade, I can see them fine. ;)
3 watt LEDs are not for looking at. I have seen 12 watt leds for sale but I'm too chicken to buy one.

Its good that LEDs arent yet perfected. There is at least a few more decades of research left and we should see some exciting new developments. :)

Another problem noted by Blachere Illumination( and written in their catalog) is the laser effect all store bought leds have.It is caused by the 30 degree diffussion that all store bought leds have.Theirs have 320 degree diffusion so as they claim theirs do not have this issue..T|his is due to the fact (as they claim) to having an inverted cone on each led...Maybe something to think about...

The ones in Big-W (Australia) have an inverted cone top. I'm sure I've seen a few other too over the last two years.

It's the structure above the chip that is inverted not the top....They call theirs a spherical led...Strange too as it looks between a m5 and an auto bulb as these push and twist...

Ah, I see. I have seen some LEDs with cones inside the encapsulation but maybe it was a product release, not actual Christmas light sets.

They certainly have some interesting stuff. I think where I saw the inverted cones first was for LED base automotive lamps.

Yea I know..Pretty sweet ideas...The bulbs is mainly what I have been looking at lately to see the differences..
