Ok.. I missed out on "freeday" (thought I was getting somewhere, but alas like so many others... nada).

Soo.. in light of the fact that I'm no longer in the queue for financial assistance from Sparkfun, where do people recommend purchasing Xbee (Zigbee) modules from? Is Sparkfun still a reasonable source?

Please share your experiences. Thanks

Andrew

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. I wanted to build a couple of Ren-W units this year.

I did notice that the prices at Mouser were ~$5 cheaper than SparkFun.

All I have to say is...

Sparkfun sale. Bah. Humbug.

Hmmm… maybe this is the reason that I had everything that I needed in my basket except the Xbee modules. I got everything else to load and checked in a relatively short time. I guess I should have pick stuff that nobody else would want.

Hmmm.... do I smell a "group buy" for Xbee modules in the making?

(I can't run one as I haven't been here long enough... and the shipping to/from Canada would probably eat up any savings)

Ernie,
I do not think that would have helped. I had mainly solder wire and some coponants and I could not finish the checkout.

Hi LabRat,

For Xbee stuff in Canada, you could give www.robotshop.ca a try. These guys are 2 blocks away from my house.

Couldn't get thru the order process either. I was going to pick up some solder and some chips, but never could get it to take my payment before time was up....

Thx for the link. Doesn't look like they carry the "PRO" modules that are recommended for the REN-WC
