Not with the 8 port controller you would have to go to the renard witch runs on serial port or the others that run DMX

how about you ask around family and friends for an old PC that has a Parallel port, and go down the 8 channel path?

Most people will give away an old PC happily.

As far as specs, I am using an 8 year old laptop (Pent 300 with 512M) with vixen and a controller. works fine.

Most people would have gone thru 2 or 3 PCs in 8 years and you should be able to get something better than my old Test Laptop.
