In my many previous years of static displays i have just taken all the lights down shoved them in a box and in the basement. Then in October i would start entangling the strands which would be complete by the middle November. Previously i had a MAX of 1000 lights this year i think i have almost 3000 entangling them in the fall will be fun. Any suggestions as to how you guys store your lights? Thanks

I save all of my grocery bags... I think that I will put 1 string of lights into each bag, and put them in boxes according to color. My other idea was to get some thick cardboard and wrap the lights around the cardboard.

Thanks for the help i have been thinking on this for 2weeks now and just remembered to ask since tomorrow is take down day

easyest way i have found to store my strings, was to roll them onto cable rolls.
ive herd some people wrap there lights on a board shapped like a H shape.
i like the cable rolls as there easer to unwrap as well with less tangles

A quick trip to the local hardware store or electrical shop to get those free cable drums they are throwing out. Then just put a small piece of pipe or something like that and put them up in the rafters in the shed. Also makes it dead easy to roll them out next year.
Just the way I have found works well.

Best way I found ..
roll them , and put each set/area of lights together in one plastic grocery sack and then tie it off .
Meaning , for example , if your bottom of your porch takes three strands of clear icicles , then roll all three strands together into one ball and bag them all in one bag and label the bag with a permanent marker and write on the bag , exactly what is in there , and where it goes .
If it goes to one Vixen channel , I make sure they all get put in the bag that way .
