I m finally getting around to assembling my Renard from the CO-OP.
I have red LED 5 V
I can short J1 and J2 to make channel 8(1) and Channel 8(2) turn on A/C
I cannot make Vixen do anything.
It appears all my parts are soldered correctly. (I did have to buy diodes from a local distributor, but he assures me they are identical substitutes fro the ones on the parts list)
I have my cable wired properly using 12VDC from the PC power supply and RS-485 signal.
What next?????

Did you try Phil's Diag code? Tell me what ch 2 and ch5 do with the diag code from:
http://www.ritzfam.com/ChristmasMadness/Renardx16SSR/Release/
The problem is most likely one of the (many) following
1) you made your cat5 cable incorrectly, rs485 signal isn't making it
2) osc isn't working (least likely)
3) ZC isn't working (somewhat likely how is your white wire hooked up? is your black wire on the right bank? It must be for ZC to work)
Please shoot a picture of how you have it all hooked up (AC black/white is what I'm most concerned with, and orientation of OSC, pin1 on ZC IC)

Do you have the plug-in settings correct?
xmus - does your board use the same firmware as Renard64?
If so, pixeldigger make sure that the baud rate is set for 57600 (most common error to fix first)

The short answer is "No use the FW at the link provided above only."
The long answer is yes, if you know what you are doing, any of the releases Phil provides will work as long as you make some minor changes (PWM off, 57600 baud, lockout feature addition manually).

I now have Blinky-flashy!
Thanks guys. I had the power to the left side, so no zero cross. Applying to the right place made it work.

Same thing happened to BillAd but it took us like 10 days to figure it out, poor guy had to mail his board to me even....

Yeah the gotcha that thew me for a loop was that I had the neutral into the wrong place for the zero-cross. Took me like half a hour to figure that one out...... :)

I suppose i should just connect NC to N and call them both "N" next time the design goes out for co-op.
That way you could chain them as well (bazooka)
I also need to figure out how to get the vixen logo on there... with express pcb
